I am an Iraqi-Canadian artist based in the Greater Toronto Area who mainly works in photography, painting, and mixed media. My art revolves around themes of identity and personal reflection, as I explore concepts of beauty, culture, memory, and personal experience. I create art to answer questions and curiosities about these concepts, seeking various methods of visualizing complex subjects and encompassing my feelings towards them. "Youth" is a still-life digital photograph of objects from my childhood while living in Iraq and later Syria. It is a nostalgic reflection of a childhood personal to me, with objects from my childhood remaining as artifacts of the past.
